Eagles’ Reid does fantasy enthusiasts a solid

Eagles coach Andy Reid announced that QB Michael Vick will be the team’s starting quarterback because, apparently, Reid enjoys winning. Fantasy enthusiasts everywhere rejoice this wonderful news. Especially when you consider what Vick did last week and that the Eagles play the Jaguars this week.
Happy days, people.
And let’s think about this for a minute: Chiefs coach Todd Haley hates your fantasy team. We all know that. Ravens coach John Harbaugh hates your fantasy team because he keeps giving Willis McGahee goal-line attempts. Jason Garrett, Tom Cable and Ken Whisenhunt. All guilty.
But think of what Reid did here. Not only did he pick the best quarterback to be his starter — both in real life and fantasy terms. But Reid made this announcement before we all made our waiver-wire pickups. A lot of people might have been compelled to drop Vick this week if they had a thin bench. Which could have been a nightmare had Reid made this decision even a day later.
Fantasy-hating coaches get a lot of scorn when they mess up, so we should all thank Reid for not only making the right call, but also for doing it at the right time for all of us.
