Of all the hot stories around the NFL on Thursday, the topic du jour at NFL Network is the immediate future of Vincent Jackson.
We found out Thursday that Jackson’s NFL suspension will been reduced to four games if he is traded by Sept. 22, a scenario that seems likely to accelerate the momentum toward a potential trade. Dropping into the “NFL Total Access” production meeting, the topic was being kicked around by host Rich Eisen, analysts Jamie Dukes and Rod Woodson, and a cadre of producers.
At one point, someone — I think it was Eisen or reporter Kara Henderson — suggested the Favre Watch animation be tweaked to fit “Jackson Watch.”
A producer deadpanned: “I don’t want to cheapen Favre Watch.”
Priceless.
The conversation eventually flowed to which team is the best fit for Jackson, in the event he is traded. I know Dukes likes the idea of the Rams. On that end, we’ll have a post soon on the teams that have been linked to Jackson. Don’t miss Total Access at 7 p.m. EST to get the latest on the Jackson story from Eisen, Dukes, Henderson and Woodson, along with NFL Insider Jason La Canfora.
