Welcome to Week 1

NFL Nation, it’s finally here. Welcome to the first Sunday of Week 1.

My NFL.com editors have passed down a special assignment, embedding me as a blogger inside Stage A at NFL Network studios. Taking in the NFL action in front of 10 big screens (including one that’s as big as any of the walls in my nearly beach-side apartment) is Rich Eisen, Steve Mariucci, Deion Sanders, Jamie Dukes, Marshall Faulk, Paul Burmeister and a host of network producers and directors.

Prime set the tone for Week 1 when he walked in the room: “The champ is here! The champ is here!”

As with any large group watching football, the pecking order is established by who has control of the remote: It’s shared by Eisen and senior producer Jason Wormser.

The biggest of the screens has been locked on mostly the Patriots/Bengals or Colts/Texans during the early action.
