RB Smith inactive, S Delmas active for Lions vs. Bears

Veteran RB Kevin Smith is inactive for the Lions’ season opener against the Bears while he recovers from a knee injury sustained last season.

The good news for Detroit is that safety Louis Delmas (groin) will play. He was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report after limited participation in practice.

Also inactive for the Lions: Drew Stanton (No. 3 QB), WR Derrick Williams, LB DeAndre Levy, G Manny Ramirez, OT Jason Fox, DE Willie Young, DE Lawrence Jackson.

Inactive for the Bears: Caleb Hanie (No. 3 QB), S Craig Steltz, CB Joshua Moore, RB Kahlil Bell, OT J’Marcus Webb, WR Earl Bennett, DE Corey Wootton, DT Marcus Harrison.
