Giants TE Kevin Boss was carted off the field during the first quarter of Sunday’s season opener. The team said Boss was having his neck evaluated and is questionable to return against the Panthers.
Boss went down on a second-and-21 play in which Giants QB Eli Manning threw an incomplete pass to him.
Boss, a fourth-year pro, had a career-high 42 catches for 567 yards last season as he developed into a reliable target for Manning. Boss also scored five touchdowns.
UPDATE: NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports that Boss has a neck injury and a concussion and will not return.
