Time for a final decision on Favre

The time has come. These are the times that try the fantasy enthusiasts’ soul. And Vikings QB Brett Favre will be sitting on my bench.
That’s right.
There are a number of factors at work here. Teams coming off a Super Bowl that host the first game of the season seemingly always win. You know the Saints fans are going to go crazy. And while the effect of the home crowd can be overrated by some writers, everybody remembers the Saints first home game following Hurricane Katrina. Some things seem ordained.
Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams also has the plan to slow down Favre who did pass for 300 yards last year, but had only one touchdown to go with an interception. The Vikings are going to have to go with Adrian Peterson early here. Plus, no Sidney Rice. Sorry Greg Camarillo does not thrill me here.
Obviously fantasy enthusiasts may initially give me a lot of (expletive) for going with Lions QB Matthew Stafford. But I will let you know that people laughed when I started a little-known QB named Kurt Warner back in 1999. Sometimes you need to make a bold play to win a fantasy league. I am going for it.
And for the record, Michelle Beisner is going with Favre tonight. Hopefully Favre comes through, but Stafford does, too. Favre is still a top-10 pick, still. But I am playing a hunch here.
