Lions seem committed to Best, you should be too

If you are not high on Jahvid Best by now, you might have already missed the boat.

There are reports that the Lions could part with running back Kevin Smith, and NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi has confirmed them. Meaning that the Lions look pretty committed to going with Best this season.

Of course, there are always concerns with rookie running backs. They tend to hit a wall at a certain point in the season. But some could argue that the Lions are long eliminated before a rookie wall would come into play. That, though, is kind of misguided towards the Lions this season.

The Lions are poised to have a huge breakout season, both offensively and defensively. Coordinator Scott Linehan loves to feature one back, and right now Best looks like the choice.

Best’s average draft position is currently at the seventh round, but that seems a little low. His value is going to rise, and you should count on at least one savvy owner in your draft making a play for him.
