Sign of things to come, Cutler calls offense ‘vanilla’

Bears QB Jay Cutler is pulling a misdirection play.
Cutler talked to reporters on Tuesday and said that “We’re not dialing stuff up when we could dial stuff up. So it’s kind of a cloak-and-dagger thing right now.”
But that was pretty much all that he would say about his alleged romance with The Hills star Kristin Cavallari. Zing!
Alright, Cutler was actually talking about the Bears offense and the lack of points stemming from Mike Martz‘s latest wizardry. Even though it seems that most of Cutler’s scoring is now relegated to the tabloids.
The Bears marriage with Martz seems like a good thing on paper — kind of like any romance that involves Jennifer Aniston. But much like an Aniston romance, it just seems doomed for failure. Martz’s offense seems best suited for dome teams, as it worked well in St. Louis and Detroit. San Francisco seemed like a mismatch. What happens when the weather turns inclement come December. Oh wait, this is Chicago, so come October.
The more you think about this Bears experiment, the worse it seems. Being left with Cutler on your fantasy team leaves kind a queasy feeling. Kind of the same feeling that you get when you see your quarterback on the tabloids.
