Vick a threat to Kolb’s value?

Eagles QB Kevin Kolb might be one of the more over-hyped players heading into the fantasy season. I have been rather ambivalent towards him this season. I know, he looked awesome in two games when the Eagles were blown out by the Saints and crushed the Chiefs. So I have long felt that there are better options at quarterback.

Charles early leader in clubhouse for KC

This is probably not what Chiefs offensive coordinator Charlie Weis envisioned when he returned to the NFL.

Falcons seem intent on running the ball

The Falcons ran nine plays on its opening drive against the Chiefs on Friday night. Eight of them were running plays.

Kolb leading McNabb in early going

Alright, I was admonished not to overreact to preseason games last night. Especially the first one, so I plan to take it easy tonight.

I’ll be watching Bills RBs, Chiefs RB tonight

Find out what I’ll be watching on Friday night when the NFL’s preseason schedule continues with three games.

‘Sloppy’ Saints need a little rest, a little work

A first sampling of the 2010 New Orleans Saints revealed that even a defending Super Bowl champion has plenty of work to do. Before Thursday night’s game against the Patriots, the Saints spent the previous two days in the New England area in practice sessions with Bill Belichick‘s well-coached squad. Saints coach Sean Peyton said he wanted to get lots of work against a 3-4 defense because his team will play at least five opponents this season that employ a 3-4 scheme.

Raiders offense struggles, why are we surprised?

Did new offensive coordinator Hue Jackson know what he was getting into in Oakland?

Red zone blues continue for Cowboys

Tell me if this sounds familiar to Cowboys fans … Tony Romo and the game look flawless moving into the red zone and then, once there, you might as well cue up the Yakety Sax as the Cowboys look more like a junior varsity squad than a Super Bowl contender.

Flacco looks strong in preseason debut

QBs Matt Moore and Joe Flacco are a couple of breakout candidates, but they had different results on Thursday night.

Nothing resolved between Chargers, Merriman

At some point, we expect Shawne Merriman to sign his restricted free agent tender, report to the Chargers, and play football. But there’s no telling exactly when that will be.

Wright, LaFell get early look for Panthers

One of the training camp competitions we’ve been tracking is in Carolina, where questions remain behind top receiver Steve Smith.

Attitude of Jets is a direct influence of Ryan

I can understand the love affair between Rex Ryan and his players, but he is not affraid to work them hard.

Ravens hold out Reed, Webb and Washington

One of the biggest question marks surrounding the Baltimore Ravens during training camp has been the depth in the secondary, and Thursday night’s list of inactive players shows just how stretched that unit is.

Welker, Kaczur inactive for Patriots

Wes Welker has been taking positive steps in his recovery from knee surgery, but that doesn’t include playing in Thursday night’s preseason opener against the Saints.

Marshall says he ‘has got next’

Does Brandon Marshall have game? The Dolphins receiver certainly thinks so.
