Maybe other teams should follow the Jags’ lead

The Jaguars have pulled RB Maurice Jones-Drew for the rest of the preseason. Which is a good thing. The Jaguars should be trendsetters here.

The Falcons ran Michael Turner 16 times on Friday night. That’s right, 16 times. Is coach Mike Smith trying to get him to 370 carries before the season? Turner is ready for the season, we do not need him running out there that much.

Redskins RB Clinton Portis sprained his ankle. The team is saying that the injury is not severe, which is what you would expect them to say. Sure the Redskins only ran him once, but apparently once was enough.

Eagles WR DeSean Jackson had an injury to his upper back. And since QB Kevin Kolb has looked so awesome this preseason, who needs a top receiver, right?

And do we even have to talk about what happened to my man Donnie Avery?

How about we chill out on the preseason, guys? The Chargers had it right when they never played LaDainian Tomlinson years ago. The Jaguars are right holding out MJD. Other teams, let’s — to borrow a phrase from Pulp Fiction — chill like a bunch of Fonzies.
