Did Wells just cost Leinart there?

The person most likely to benefit from Kurt Warner‘s retirement figured to be RB Beanie Wells, because when your choices are Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson, running the ball seems like an attractive option.
But did Wells just cost Leinart at the end of the second half?
Anderson got the start — you might have heard something about that — and looked decent enough. Leinart was given a chance to run the 2-minute drill at the end of the second half, but Wells fumbled to end the drive. Leinart had the team moving and it would have been a nice bounce-back for him to get the team in the end zone.
But that fumble. We will never know what would have happened.
In fact, Wells needs to show some more in this situation. Wells had a drop earlier and this fumble could push Tim Hightower ahead of him. So Wells may have just cost himself.
