Rolling the dice on a Bears WR? Take Aromashodu

The Bears offense is like the sun. Use precaution, and you could get a nice warming glow. Move haphazardly, and you will end up burned.
The Bears hype machine is fully operational, thanks to Mike Martz being the team’s offensive coordinator. But as somebody who is still peeling from the burning that Matt Forte put on me last year, I am cautiously optimistic about the Bears. I’d rather stay away from QB Jay Cutler, only take a chance on Forte if the price is right, but the receivers are intriguing.
Rolling the dice on a receiver is not the same as taking a chance on a turnover-prone quarterback playing behind a shaky line. A couple of the big-name receivers like Devin Hester and Johnny Knox get the most attention. But I have my eye on Devin Aromashodu.
Bears receivers coach Darryl Drake told the Chicago Tribune that he considers Aromashodu the team’s third starter. Aromashodu had 22 receptions for 282 yards and four touchdowns in the final four games of 2009, becoming one of Cutler’s favorite targets. Aromashodu is currently being drafted in the 13th round (according to NFL.com’s average draft position), which is where I am about most comfortable taking him.
