Banged up Broncos get several starters back on field

The Denver Broncos continue to lead the league in preseason injuries, and now get their own blog post devoted to the players coming and going from practice:

  • The Broncos got two starters — LB D.J. Williams and OL Chris Kuperback to practice on Tuesday, according to The Denver Post. Williams, who was out for an undisclosed reason, will be limited to one practice per day. Kuper was nursing an ankle injury.
  • Veteran WR Brandon Stokley left practice early Tuesday after pulling up lame during a non-contract drill, per the team’s site. He did not practice Wednesday.
  • Brian Dawkins returned for the afternoon practice session on Wednesday, while veterans Williams, Daniel Graham, Champ Bailey and Renaldo Hill got the afternoon off. Graham and Bailey have been held out the last two days.
  • Jarvis Moss, who broke his hand two weeks ago, returned on Wednesday with a cast on his hand, according to The Denver Post.
  • Rookie WR Eric Decker returned on Wednesday after missing 10 days with a sprained ankle. Fellow rookie Demaryius Thomas continues to sit out with a foot injury.
  • The Broncos top three running backs — Knowshon Moreno, LenDale White and Correll Buckhalter — continue to miss time. According to The Post, all three will likely miss Saturday’s second preseason game.
  • The injury bug has also reached Tim Tebow, who has been wearing a flak jacket to protect a rib injury and left practice Wednesday.
