Favre Watch back on full alert

Suddenly, with very little warning, the NFL Newsroom has reached DEFCON 2  (although some disagreement took place) in the Favre Watch.

NFL Network reporter Scott Hanson has reported, according to a source, Brett Favre has boarded a plane and is heading north.

Of course that could mean many things, but if Brad Childress is in a car headed to the airport, it could mean the wait is finally over. The Vikings reportedly sent three representatives —¬† Jared Allen, Steve Hutchinson and Ryan Longwell — to Hattiesburg, Miss., to try to convince the quarterback to return for a 20th NFL season.

Maybe their influence was too much for Favre to say no to.

Then again, if Favre is heading to any other destination north of Hattiesburg (we have no idea where the Wrangler commercials are filmed), then I’ll never get back the several minutes I used to write this post.

The news and assignment editors for NFL Network are scurrying around the newsroom, just like you see in the movies, so we’ll keep you up to date with the latest.
