Favre landed; Vikings have yet to call news conference

In some circles all of this would be considered overkill. Welcome to Favre Watch.
We’re watching every moment of Brett Favre’s arrival at an airport in suburban Eden Prarie, Minn., where a white private plane with a purple underbelly landed Tuesday afternoon. Our main TV feed is from a helicopter, but all indications are two SUVs and a pickup truck are picking up the triumphant trio and Favre.
Favre got into a black SUV that drove off the tarmac first. We’re happy to report it was not driven by Brad Childress.
Other than the rubes standing at the gate of the airport, it kind of feels like an episode of 24. Judging by what we’re currently (still) watching, it looks as though the local television helicopters are going to follow Favre’s vehicle to the team’s Winter Park headquarters.
The Vikings have yet to announce a news conference for today.
