Bulluck: Giants will be talk of the town

It didn’t take Keith Bulluck long to get back into a New York State of Mind (or a N.Y. State of Mind).
Bulluck, a New York native, had some great takes on the Giants/Jets rivalry that renews tonight in the opening of the New Meadowlands Stadium, the first preseason game for both teams.
“If you’re from New York, you know who New York’s football team is: the New York Giants,” Bulluck told The New York Post. “I’m a Mets fan, but I know who New York’s baseball team is: the New York Yankees. The Jets haven’t won nothing since Broadway Joe.”
Bulluck must have done his research; one study shows the Giants have 40,000 more Facebook fans than the Jets. He doesn’t mind, though, that the Giants have been under the radar while the Hard-Knock Jets are churning headlines.
“I haven’t been on this team long, but I’ve noticed that the Giants have not been talked about much all off-season,” Bulluck said. “I think that’s the great thing because there is so much talent here that people don’t know about. I’m sure by the end of September, we’ll be the talk of the town.”
It’s a lot of talk for a preseason game (unless you believe it’s a battle for the soul of New York), but there’s a lot to like.
“But at the end of the day, we know what’s up,” Bulluck added. “Ain’t no preseason game ever going to prove it; we need to find a way to have a subway Super Bowl. That would be perfect. And we know who wins that.”
