Saints seeking replacement for Hamilton

Lynell Hamilton‘s season-ending injury has putĀ the Saints back in the running back market.

According to The Times Picayune, the Saints likely will bring a veteran running back into camp before Saturday’s preseason game against the Texans. The Saints needs a bigger back behind Pierre Thomas and Reggie Bush.

One option could be LadellĀ Betts, who visited the Saints two weeks ago and also has visited the Broncos. Until a suitable candidate is cut by another team, other backs who played last season and remain on the free-agent market include Jamal Lewis (who met with the Saints in April), LaMont Jordan, Chris Brown and Verron Haynes.
