Eagles QB Kevin Kolb might be one of the more over-hyped players heading into the fantasy season. I have been rather ambivalent towards him this season. I know, he looked awesome in two games when the Eagles were blown out by the Saints and crushed the Chiefs. Still, I have long felt that there are better options at quarterback.
I am now even lower on Kolb after Michael Vick‘s impressive performance on Friday night.
There has been a lot of talk about Vick looking better this season. That he really understands the offense, and he is starting to show some of that pre-prison quickness. That was on display on Friday night.
Vick was good running the ball, and passing it, too. The only knock against him was a fumble and an interception, which could still be game rust. More performances like this, however, and the Eagles will have to get him on the field.
That could severely hurt Kolb’s status, pushing him from a possible No. 1 quarterback, to a No. 2 quarterback. I would put guys like Joe Flacco and Matt Ryan ahead of him.
Continue to monitor his status and be cognizant of what Vick does for the rest of the preseason.
