At some point, we expect Shawne Merriman to sign his restricted free agent tender, report to the Chargers, and play football. But there’s no telling exactly when that will be.

Amid reports Merriman will report this weekend, NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora told “NFL Total Access” on Thursday that according to sources close to the player, the situation is still in flux and nothing has been resolved with the Chargers.

Basically, the situation still rests on Merriman.
