In Jacksonville, we know that Mike Sims-Walker holds down his spot as the team’s No. 1 receiver. Behind Walker, there are a lot of questions as to who will be the team’s second option. The latest reports suggest Mike Thomas might be the answer.
The Jaguars held a practice session against the Falcons on Tuesday, and Thomas stood out. According to Tania Ganguli of The Florida Times-Union, it was another step in Thomas distinguishing himself during camp. Vic Ketchman had an even more glowing report on Jaguars.com, suggesting Thomas strengthened his hold on the second receiver spot.
The main competition for Thomas is expected to be Jarett Dillard and second-year player Tiquan Underwood, which might mean there isn’t a ton of competition.
While we generally take most training camp competitions with a grain of salt, at this point, it sounds like it’s Thomas’ job to lose.
