Obama: Payton’s onside kick call ‘took some guts’

The New Orleans Saints visited President Obama at the White House on Monday, and some of the video has landed in the NFL newsroom.

The President had a pretty clever take on coach Sean Payton’s decision to go for an onside kick to start the second half, saying “that took some guts.” He then wondered aloud whether Payton had to check-off with owner Tom Benson on the decision.

“I’m glad that thing went alright,” the President chided Payton.

Good stuff.
