Jones listed as top RB in Kansas City

RB Thomas Jones is listed as the starter, ahead of fantasy darling Jamaal Charles, on the Chiefs’ depth chart which was released on Monday afternoon (via the Kansas City Star).

Chiefs coach Todd Haley comes from the Bill Parcells mold, and is no stranger to trying to motivate players through the depth chart. You may remember that Haley had Dwayne Bowe buried deep on the depth chart last preseason. However, you may also recall that Bowe struggled mightily, which may be a bad omen for Charles.

This is a development that obviously warrants monitoring on the fantasy football front, but could prove to be troubling heading into the regular season. Charles is currently listed as the No. 11 running back on NFL.com’s fantasy rankings.
