CANTON, OHIO — Barely 9 a.m. in the morning, and already we’ve run into two-thirds of the famed “Triplets” of the 1990s Cowboys — Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin.
Irvin is hobbling around on crutches having blown his Achilles.
“I knew I retired for a reason,” Irvin quipped.
He will be joining Howard Balzer and the gang on Sirius Radio shortly.
The Hall of Famers are starting to accumulate in the lobby of the McKinnley Hotel in Canton, Ohio. Most will be stopping by our little outpost here to sign autographs. Smith was up bright and early to sign autographs. You can tell he is excited to be here. Although for Smith, who kept every ball that he scored a touchdown with during his NFL career, it must have been strange to surrender those footballs.
