How about something extra for Peterson?

With reports swirling that the Minnesota Vikings would offer QB Brett Favre a financial enticement to return this season, RB Adrian Peterson has raised the idea that he, too, wouldn’t mind a little something for the effort.

Peterson told KFAN-AM on Wednesday that he would to “at least talk about it”, meaning a new contract. The St. Paul Pioneer Press reported the running back will make $3.64 million this season and is entering the fourth year of his six-year, $40.5 million rookie contract.

Peterson, who has taken limited reps in camp due to sore legs, indicated that he doesn’t want the topic to become a distraction.

And that’s a good thing for the Vikings, who already have enough of those this summer.
