Pat White a no-show as Dolphins open camp

The Miami Dolphins conducted their first practice of training camp on Friday two players short of a full deck. Missing were CB Evan Oglesby and QB Pat White.
White, the team’s second-round pick in 2009, was most notable. He’s fighting for a roster spot — already behind Chad Pennington and Tyler Thigpen — after limited time last season and has publicly (thank you again, Twitter) resisted the idea of switching to wide receiver.
According to The Palm Beach Post, the Dolphins declined to comment on White’s absence, which only fuels the speculation the team could trade or release him. White did participate in all of the Dolphins’ OTAs and minicamps, according to the report.
Dolphins coach Tony Sparano held his news conference before practice Friday and wasn’t asked about White. I’m guessing we haven’t heard the last on this story.
