Childress on Favre: ‘We can live with it either way’

Most of us in the NFL newsroom tuned in when Brad Childress’ Friday news conference was brought in live, if only to see his reaction when the inevitable Brett Favre questions started.
FYI … the Vikings reported to camp today. No, Favre was not there.
Childress used the words “ad nauseum” at some point during the line of Favre questions (some were inaudible), but his larger point on the Big Decision was this: “We can live with it either way.”
Camp for the Vikings runs through Aug. 8, and because we don’t expect Favre to make an appearance, we also expect some version of today’s back-and-forth every day between now and then. One of our editors used the word “exasperated” when watching Childress, who at one point suggested to reporters (and I presume he was only half-kidding) that they split the room into two sides, with those who believe Favre should return on one side, and those who don’t on the other, so they could battle it out in the media.
Well played, Brad.
And that, NFL Nation, is your Favre Watch for Friday.
