Cowboys QB Tony Romo didn’t make the U.S. Open, but he showed Sunday that he still has game.
Romo, who missed on U.S. Open qualifying this summer, shoot a final-round 25 at the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship, which uses the modified Stableford scoring format, and finished tied for second, 19 points behind retired NFL QB Billy Joe Tolliver, who easily won the tournament for a third time.
Romo finished with 65 points in the format, which rewards players for eagles and birdies and penalizes them for double bogeys. Hall of Fame QB John Elway also had 65 points, as did former major-league pitcher John Smoltz and actor Jack Wagner.
Retired QBs Mark Rypien (60) and Trent Dilfer (58) also finished in the top 10 at the event, which is popular with current and former NFL figures.
