QBs rise atop leaderboard at celebrity golf event

NFL players and coaches, both past and present, are faring well in the American Century Celebrity Golf Championship in Stateline, Nev.
Retired QB Billy Joe Tolliver, a two-time champion of the tournament, is one point behind actor Jack Wagner and former NHL star Jeremy Roenick, who lead at 26 after one round. The event uses the modified Stableford scoring format, which rewards players for eagles and birdies and penalizes them for double bogeys.
Another retired QB, Vinny Testaverde, is tied for fourth at 24. Former Redskins QB Mark Rypien and current Cowboys signal-caller Tony Romo are tied for seventh at 21, and Bears kicker Robbie Gould and Hall of Fame QB John Elway are in the top 10 with a 20.

The second round of the 54-hole tournament is set for Saturday at Edgewood Golf Course.
