Now that LeBron James has finally chosen a new home, the next “decision” that will dominate the sporting world is Brett Favre‘s future. While James’ future has been bandied about for two years, by comparisons sake, Favre has only been weighing his latest decision on retirement since the Vikings were beaten in the NFC title game.
What’s Favre up to these days? Playing catch with high schoolers , hanging out down in Hattiesburg, Miss., and, oh yeah, contemplating whether to return for a 20th season.
The latest will he or won’t he saga will unfold next week when Favre is scheduled to attend ESPN’s ESPY awards on Wednesday in Los Angeles, reports the Star Tribune. He’s nominated for three awards and is also slated to be a presenter.
While it would be a shock if Favre gave any clue into what he’s leaning toward doing, that won’t stop anyone he comes in contact with from asking the 40-year-old quarterback if he’ll be playing football or with the tractor in a month.
The Vikings report to training camp on July 30th. Whether Favre joins the team then, a few days later or not at all remains to be seen.
