With or without Favre, T-Jax keeps approach

Vikings backup, errrr, likely backup QB Tarvaris Jackson is one of a host of NFL players participating in some grueling workouts hosted by Cardinals WR Larry Fitzgerald in Minneapolis.
Good thing it’s July, too, because Jackson indicated he’s having a really rough time with the workouts, per Chip Scroggins of the Star Tribune.
Naturally, since Fitzgerald was asked his opinion on Brett Favre‘s future with the Vikings, it stands to reason Jackson was, too. Jackson, who flatly declared that Favre “isn’t working out for no reason,” also said the timing of when the QB announces won’t change his approach as the No. 2 option.
“If he doesn’t show up to Mankato (for training camp), sign the same time he did last year, that’s fine, that’’ more reps for me, Sage [Rosenfels] and Joe [Webb],” Jackson said. “We just basically try to take advantage of it. When he comes backs, be ready mentally and just know what you’re getting yourself into. It’s going to be a long season.”
Vikings coach Brad Childress joked last week that he has been asked “thousands and thousands” of times about Favre’s pending return. Jackson can’t be far behind.
