Irvin: ‘No way’ Favre stays away

Time to queue up the Favre Watch animation, because another ex-wide receiver has gone on the record to predict that Brett Favre will return for a 20th season.

On the heels of Cris Carter‘s impassioned proclamation that Favre will return, former Cowboys receiver and NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin proclaimed in his own classic fashion that Favre’s love of the game — and the camaraderie that comes with it — won’t let him retire just yet.

“Players know. They know what it means to have that union with other guys and they know how difficult it is not having that union,” Irvin told “NFL Total Access.”

“Brett Favre has played with a lot of guys like me that are retired and have been out of the league for a long time. They will tell Brett, and I’m sure they tell him all the time, ‘Man, you will never have that feeling of running out on the field, 53 men, one mind, one gameplan, one heartbeat. You’ll never have it again in life.’ There’s no way Brett walks away from that and he shouldn’t walk away from it. You should make people drag you away from that.”
