Lombardi: Arrest likely the end for Russell’s NFL hopes

Michael Lombardi appeared on NFL Total Access on Monday, telling host Fran Charles that he believes JaMarcus Russell‘s arrest for possession of a controlled substance likely marks the end of the road for the former Raiders QB in the NFL. Lombardi says Russell might look north of the border for an opportunity in the Canadian Football League, where the Hamilton Tiger-Cats possess his rights.
Among the other topics that Lombardi discussed:
- The animosity between RB Chris Johnson and the Titans is beginning to thaw. Lombardi believes a long-term deal will be done by the time training camp starts later this month.
- The Eagles aren’t jumping to conclusions regarding Michael Vick and any connection to a shooting outside a Virginia nightclub. They will wait until the police investigation is over and they have collected all the information before deciding how to proceed.
