The Tennessee Titans were featured Tuesday on the ongoing 32 in 32 series on NFL Network, opening the window for the “NFL Total Access” crew to take a closer look at the team that rallied to finish 8-8 last season. So far during this offseason, the team has parted ways with several veterans while facing a number of off-field distractions.
Analysts Jamie Dukes and Brian Baldinger discussed the progression of Vince Young, the face of the Titans’ franchise.
Simply put, can the Titans count on Young, on and off the field?
“I think the fact that Young came in last season when the Titans were 0-6 and just got beat by the Patriots 56-0 in the snow in Foxborough, there was no pressure on him,” Baldinger said. “Now, coming into this season [as the starter] the pressure will be on him. It’s going to be different. Then there was the offseason incident. He has to shed the thin skin, he needs to grow up. He has to be the face of the organization, and represent them on and off the field. Then, his practice habits need to be there every day all the way through the offseason.”
