Mike Shanahan and the Redskins are playing this one close to the vest. As the Redskins mull their options on what direction to take with the disgruntled Albert Haynesworth, Shanahan told reporters Thursday the organization does have a plan.
It’s just that he’s not saying what it is. And that’s no surprise.
Amid reports Wednesday the organization will try to recoup all or some of the $21 million bonus paid to Haynesworth, Shanahan refused to confirm that detail.
“Obviously, we have a game plan,” Shanahan responded. “I’m not going to deal with speculation, or obviosuly tell you what we’re going to do. But, definitely, we have a plan of attack. I don’t want to share that publicly, for obvious reasons, I don’ t think it’s fair to negotiate through the press or even give people an idea which dirction we’re going.
“We’re going to do what we feel is right. You’ll find out in time.”
As Shanahan suggested yesterday, it appears as if the next move is Haynesworth’s.
