They might be tough on the football field, but NFL players clearly have a soft spot for their little girls.
In an effort to promote awareness and prevention of domestic violence, more than 70 current and former NFL players have contributed to a new book, “NFL Dads Dedicated to Their Daughters.” Published by Triumph Books in conjunction with the NFL Player Development department and the NFL Players Association, the book contains first-person accounts from the players on what it means to raise a daughter, and it features candid photos of the players with their families.
Proceeds of the book will go to A Call to Men, a group dedicated to the prevention of domestic abuse.
“We cannot continue to support a man who needs to dominate a woman in order to boost his own confidence and feel like a man,” writes Washington Redskins quarterback Donovan McNabb. “I am very protective of my daughters as well as my wife,” he continues. “I want my family to live happy, healthy lives in a world where there are good men who treat women right.”
