With the news Wednesday that more than 50 audio and video recordings from the investigation over Ben Roethlisberger’s alleged sexual assault of a college student were released by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, KDKA sports anchor Bob Pompeani joined “NFL Total Access” to discuss the two days he recently spent with the star quarterback.

Pompeani said he observed a contrite Roethlisberger.

“I think you see a guy who has realized that he’s kind of hit rock bottom, and he’s willing, at this point, to move forward and change what a lot of what his situation has been about,” Pompeani said.

“He’s willing, at this point, to start over. And he’s reaching out to a lot of people. … Overall, I saw a guy who realized that this is his opportunity to make amends.”
