Revis’ absence planned for the cameras?

Reality television — it’s all about the drama. Whether Snookie is getting into barroom squabbles, or Wes is watching his latest alliance crumble on whatever MTV challenge the network is currently filming, the drama is what sells.
So could Darrelle Revis have had this in mind when he staged a holdout from the Jets’ voluntary workout on Thursday? Cameras were at the Jets’ practice facility for the first day of filming HBO’s Hard Knocks. Plus, it was media day.
George Willis of the New York Post believes that Revis knew exactly what he was doing when he chose to miss Thursday’s practice.
Willis said it was “hardly a coincidence” that Revis skipped the session on Thursday. The move, he believes, was calculated because the cornerback is media savvy. Of course, Hard Knocks will not air until August, but still, Revis’ holdout could be a potential storyline for the upcoming season.
