What Wes Welker is doing on the football field is significant. It’s significant because, just four months ago, he had surgery to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.

Patriots beat writer Albert Breer of The Boston Globe joined “NFL Total Access” on Wednesday and offered his thoughts after watching Welker work out. It’s difficult to suggest any time of timetable for Welker’s full return, but Breer suggests the receiver’s dramatic progress will cause many to readjust their expectations.
