Raiders unlikely to get money back from Russell

So the Raiders have filed a grievance wanting $9.5 million back from JaMarcus Russell because the 2007 No. 1 overall draft pick never even came close to living up to expectations.

Yeah, good luck with that.

That’s essentially how NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi broke down the situation on Friday’s “NFL Total Access,” noting that the very reason why Russell held out for so long as a rookie was to work out the specific language in his contract, particularly as it pertained to his guaranteed money.
