Michaels would be stunned not to see Favre in opener

Legendary play-by-play voice Al Michaels stopped by the NFL Network studios Wednesday, dispensing his opinions on a number of topics, including the future of Brett Favre, with “NFL Total Access” host Fran Charles.
Michaels agrees with the popular opinion — saying there’s a 90 percent chance — we’ll see Favre under center when he calls the Vikings 2010 season-opener against the Saints on Sept. 9 in New Orleans.
“He knows he can play. He enjoys the game as much as anybody who has ever played football,” Michaels said. “If he wakes up, and still feels that he can still play the game, I think he’s going to eventually report to camp. He’s not going to be there, probably, for the opening of camp. Nor was he last year. I would be stunned — it would have to be something that would be physical and would not enable him to play at the level to which he wants to play — which would preclude his being a part of the Minnesota Vikings this year. I fully anticipate he’ll be there on opening night.”
