Jackson has strong first impression of Bradford

Another note to pass along out of St. Louis, where veterans and rookies are practicing together for the first time during the Rams’ first session of organized team activities (OTAs). The session allowed many players to get their first on-field look at top overall pick Sam Bradford.
Running back Steven Jackson, who is in attendance but remains on the sidelines following back surgery, sounds like he got a strong first impression.
“From a distance, he’s very impressive,” Jackson told St. Louis-area reporters. “He had a good day here today, the way he handled himself. He’s a very humble young man. We did some things together (Monday), and he was very low-key about it. You can tell he was raised right. It’ll be fun to play with him. … You can see the arm strength, the accuracy and his intellect. He’s really a smart guy.”
Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo said veteran A.J. Feeley took all of the first-team reps, with Bradford and Keith Null splitting the rest. One reporter asked Bradford if he felt the need to remind his coach he’s the first overall pick.
“No, not at all, not at all,” Bradford said with a laugh. “He’s got so much experience with this offense. He knows what he’s doing with it. I’m just excited to be here and to get to learn from him.”
