Mangold looking for extension with Jets

While Mark Sanchez is on the comeback trail, teammate Nick Mangold is on the contract trail.
Mangold, who will be entering the final year of his five-year rookie contract, told the Star-Ledger Wednesday he’d like to get a new deal done before the start of the season. Arguably the best center in the NFL, Mangold is one of several Jets (joining LB David Harris, OT D’Brickashaw Ferguson and CB Darrelle Revis, according to beat writer Manish Mehta) looking for extensions this offseason.
“It’s one of those things — love the team, love the area,” Mangold told The Ledger. “You see how many people they got to get done. It should be very interesting to see how it all plays out.”
