On Friday, pundits on NFL Network and NFL.com speculated about where QB JaMarcus Russell would end up after his release from the Raiders on Thursday.
Steve Wyche said he’s heard that 2007′s No. 1 overall draft pick could land with the Indianapolis Colts, where he would benefit from playing behind Peyton Manning for a more disciplined franchise.
NFL.com’s Pat Kirwan suggests that the Redskins might be a good fit for Russell.
Both Wyche and NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi believe Russell may have to wait a while to find the right suitor, as teams will want him to get into playing shape before they consider signing him.
If there proves to be no market for Russell in the National Football League, NFL Network analyst Marshall Faulk says that he could keep his skills sharp by joining the Arena Football League or heading north of the border to the Canadian Football League.
