Packers, Eagles, and then Bears. And the Bears a distant third. That is how I would rank the upcoming throwback uniforms for the 2010 season.
The Eagles announced that they would be honoring the 1960 NFL championship team with kelly green throwbacks during the 2010 NFL season opener. The Packers will honor their 1920s team with a third jersey, while the Bears will pay homage to the 1940s — when the ‘Monsters of the Midway’ won four titles — by wearing their throwbacks twice this season.
That Packers uniform is pretty sharp. The kind of jersey that even a non-fan would wear. However, the Packers current look is so classic, I would keep the traditional uniforms and then break this one out on occasion.
The Eagles should switch to the kelly green uniforms permanently. The Eagles along with the Chargers, Patriots, Bills and Titans/Oilers, whose throwbacks were superior to their current looks during the AFL throwbacks last season, should consider going to these classic looks full-time.
As for the Bears, hey, you gave it a good try. But like the Packers, your uniform is good.
Not to go all Jamie Dukes, but what say you?
