Well-traveled Western Illinois players chase NFL dream

Sometimes, if the scouts aren’t willing to come to your pro day, you have to bring the pro day to the scouts. That’s exactly what nine athletes from Western Illinois University did on March 23, when they traveled about 175 miles east to the campus of Northwestern University to work out indoors on FieldTurf for talent evaluators from 20 teams.

A.J. Jackson, a wide receiver from The California University of Pennsylvania, stole the show at the University of Pennsylvania’s pro day on March 31st. Jackson (6-1 1/4

East Carolina filled with defensive line prospects

A pair of Pirates defensive linemen are quickly moving up draft boards. The best indication of defensive tackles Linval Joseph and Jay Ross‘ rising stature may be that 10 defensive line coaches were among the 31 team representatives in attendance at East Carolina’s pro day on March 25.

Roundup: Rams playing poker with picks?

The NFL in April has more bluffing than the main event table in the World Series of Poker. Teams generally don’t want to tip their hand too early. So in the wake of reports that St. Louis was interested in Oklahoma QB Sam Bradford, GM Billy Devany went into Phil Hellmuth mode.
