Washington has added value with the Seahawks

In one of my previous posts, I said that Leon Washington was a good bet to be traded. Well, NFL Network insider Mike Lombardi is now reporting that he’s been dealt to the Seahawks.
This is great news for Washington’s value, as he’ll join the newly-acquired LenDale White to form a nice one-two backfield punch for coach Pete Carroll. White will see early-down and goal-line work, while Washington will serve as a change-of-pace runner and be utilized on passing downs.
I see White as a viable flex starter in fantasy circles, while Washington will be more valuable in leagues that reward points for catches.
These two moves basically decimate the value of Julius Jones and Justin Forsett, neither or whom warrants much consideration in fantasy drafts. I’d actually be surprised if Jones is even with the Seahawks to start the season.
In New York, rookie Joe McKnight will replace Washington on the depth chart. However, he’ll have little value in seasonal leagues behind Shonn Greene and LaDainian Tomlinson.
