One day after being selected by the Denver Broncos with the 25th overall pick in the NFL Draft, Tim Tebow checked in with NFL Network’s Fran Charles to talk about his experience on draft day.
Adorned in a Broncos orange tie, Tebow admitted that he had an idea Denver was one of the places he could end up.
“We knew that Denver was interested. We knew that they liked me because of our time together. We also knew a few other teams were interested,” Tebow said from the Broncos’ facility. “We didn’t know when, we didn’t know where, but we were excited about it and we were ready just in case. So when coach (Josh) McDaniels called and said they were taking me, we were excited. We were extremely joyful and it truly was a blessing.”
After much speculation as to whether or not Tebow would would go in the first round, he became the second quarterback taken on Day 1.
“I don’t know if I anticipated it either way,” Tebow said. “I was just ready, regardless of what happened, that I was going to go give my heart and soul to an organization, try to be the first one in the building and the last one to leave and go work as hard as I could be to achieve my dream.”
