Jets release Pro Bowl guard Faneca

NEW YORK — The Jets released Alan Faneca and already informed the Pro Bowl guard of the move, according to a league source.

Faneca joined the Jets as a free agent before the 2008 season, and he has been selected to nine consecutive Pro Bowls. But the Jets added a new offensive lineman, former Massachusetts standout Vladimir Ducasse, in the draft Friday.
