McCluster won’t make immediate impact

Dexter McCluster is a tremendous playmaker with a versatile skill set, but it’s hard to see him making much noise as a rookie.
The Chiefs have announced that he’ll be listed as a wide receiver, not a running back, which is actually better for his rookie value. With Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones on the roster, McCluster wasn’t going to see much burn as a runner.
McCluster is a talented pass catcher, and it looks like he’ll be lininup in the slot for coach Todd Haley as a complement to Dwayne Bowe and Chris Chambers. He also gives Matt Cassel another weapon in the pass attack.
Overall, I see McCluster’s seasonal value as being limited to the late rounds on draft day.
