Jets reps have some fun at the draft

NEW YORK — Sometimes, it’s the light-hearted moments away from the cameras that leave an impression at an event such as the draft. And what better team to provide such a comical diversion offstage than the New York Jets.
While waiting for the elevator to get back to their table, the Jets’ two team representatives came up with an idea.
“You have to wear the Rockettes’ earmuffs to the stage when you turn in our pick!” one mentioned to the other with a distinct New York accent. At the very least, they discussed, the lobster head prop must be put on.
Well, the Radio City Music Hall employee in the prop closet wasn’t really down with the idea, so their hopes were dashed.
Still, on the elevator ride down, the Jets representatives pondered what Rex Ryan would have thought of the stunt, and quickly concluded the gregarious coach would have given a hearty laugh and likely approved.
